Absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!   ACDC still has it in them.   I went to see them last night with my 14 year old son and we loved it.   They played all the hits and some new songs.   There were flames, explosions, and pretty much anything you can think of.   YOU HAVE TO GO SEE ACDC!!!!!!!!!!   IT IS WELL WORTH IT!!!!!

With only a few concerts left, take the opporttunity if they are coming to a town near you!!

So, the new AC/DC album, a collection of songs mixing the hard-edged beats of hip-hop and the stentorian, even Wagnerian, bombast of Led Zeppelin with a touch of commentary about the end of George Bush. Would you believe it? No?

Would you believe 14 straight-ahead rockers and one lighters-in-the-air ballad for the ladeez? No?

OK Chief, how about 15 songs almost all of which could have appeared on any AC/DC album of the past 28 years from a band who would no more change their style than change their hairstyles? Yes, that’s more like it.

The frenzy to upload a sneak version of AC/DC’s new album, Black Ice does seem to work from an interesting premise: that there must be surprises here which would make waiting even a minute more pure torture.

More seasoned watchers – and in the end your average AC/DC fan in his black tour T-shirt and worsted jeans that hold in a mid-40s belly showing its flexibility is nothing if not seasoned – know familiarity and security are bywords for the most successful Australian band of all time.

So we get heartland titles such as She Likes Rock ‘N Roll, Smash N Grab, Rock ‘N Roll Train, Rocking All The Way (whose chorus incidentally sounds like Highway To Hell’s grandchild), and for variety, Rock N Roll Dream.

We get the screechy voiced Brian Johnson waiting to explode, worried about a woman who is trouble and calling down skies on fire in time-honoured fashion. And we get guitar solos that make their point, move on, and are having a beer while your more pretentious bands are just warming up the fingers.

Demand is high for tickets to the group’s impending tour, as evidenced by the 18 sellouts the band logged when tickets went on sale earlier this month, prompting the group to add encore performances in a number of cities.

AC/DC’s upcoming tour supports the forthcoming album “Black Ice,” which is due in stores Oct. 20. As has become more commonplace in recent years, AC/DC has joined the ranks of artists who cut deals with exclusive retail distributors; “Black Ice” will be sold in the US exclusively at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club, as well as via the band’s website.

Fans who order tickets to the tour via Ticketmaster.com will have an exclusive opportunity to pre-order “Black Ice,” according to a press release. (Ticketmaster is LiveDaily’s parent company.)

Produced by Brendan O’Brien (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam) and mixed by the band’s longtime audio engineer, Mike Fraser, “Black Ice” features the leadoff single “Rock ‘N’ Roll Train,” which hit radio stations late last month and went to No. 1 at rock radio, according to Sony BMG. AC/DC‘s first world tour in eight years got an enthusiastic response from ticket buyers with 18 concerts selling out in record time, forcing the band to create additional shows in Chicago, IL, Los Angeles, CA, and Oakland, CA. Their 18-month Black Ice World Tour kicks off on October 8 in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

The October 30 Allstate Arena concert in Chicago, IL, sold out in minutes forcing a second show on November 1 to go on sale, which also sold out last weekend. Both Madison Square Garden concerts on November 12-13 in New York City sold out in minutes.

In Canada, the November 28 General Motors Place concert in Vancouver, BC, sold out in four minutes, a record for the venue. Additionally, reports state that tickets for the November 7 show in Toronto, ON, at the Rogers Centre sold faster than any stadium concert in the venue’s history.

“The tremendous fan response to AC/DC is evidenced by record breaking ticket sales this weekend,” said Columbia Records co-Chairman Steve Barnett in a statement. “Along with the worldwide success of the ‘No Bull’ DVD re-release, it’s obvious that fans are anxiously awaiting the October 20 release of the new album, ‘Black Ice.’”

However, some Vancouver fans attempting to buy AC/DC tickets ended up empty-handed and disgruntled. According to the Vancouver Sun, while all the $99 tickets for the show went clean in minutes, resale tickets popped up on Ticketmaster‘s ticket exchange site, TicketsNow.

In past published reports, Ticketmaster stated that tickets are obtained from licensed brokers and individual sellers; they are not held back for resale on it resale site. As of the afternoon of September 24, prices for AC/DC’s Vancouver concert on TicketsNow range from $438 to $1,123.

AC/DC is using Ticketmaster’s paperless ticket technology exclusively for seats reserved by the band’s fan club members. In a recent report, Ticketmaster declared the paperless ticket’s European debut a success when the system was used for a September 15 Metallica concert.

Earlier this month, AC/DC released “No Bull: The Directors Cut,” a newly edited HD DVD version of its July 1996 concert at the famed Plaza De Toros de las Ventas bullring in Madrid, Spain.
